Today the third phase of the release of the .com.de-extension, the .de owner promotion phase, has begun. This phase will end on September 22nd.
A cybersquatter is being accused of hijacking the domain name of the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Martin McCann, the man who registered the name, doesn’t think he has done anything wrong.
ICM, the .xxx registry, has blocked approximately 15.000 .xxx names. These names won’t be available for registration once the release of this extension begins.

During the previous weekend, all websites and other services ending in .gb.com went off-line. The extension .gb.com isn’t a real “top level domain” like fore example .be or .co.uk. It actually is the owner of the domain name “gb.com” who is selling subdomains under his domain name. And it now turns out that ownership of gb.com is disputed.
