A cybersquatter is being accused of hijacking the domain name of the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Martin McCann, the man who registered the name, doesn’t think he has done anything wrong.
A few days after the death of Amy Winehouse her father revealed his plans to set up the Amy Winehouse Foundation. These foundation would help drug addicts. The domain nameĀ amywinehousefoundation.com was registered by Martin McCann just a few hours after this announcement. Also the names amywinhousefoundation.org.uk and amywinehousefoundation.org have already been registered by other individuals.
McCann denies the accusations. ‘I haven’t done anything wrong,’ he says. ‘I’ve only registered a few domain names. Everyone can do so!’ McCann claims. ‘Moreover it only takes a couple of mouse clicks,’ he adds.
