Landrush .so has started

Today the landrush for .so names has finally started. This landrush has been postponed several times, once due to the success of the sunrise and once due to precaution measures. However, the landrush started today and will end on February 28th 2011.

During this landrush everyone who wishes to do so can register a .so domain name. Attention: applications will not be treated on a first come, first served basis. If 2 or more people apply for the same name and their application is valid, the names will be sold during an auction after the sunrise to the highest bidder. Of course, only the people who filed a valid application will be able to participated in this auction. The auction will start on March 17th 2011 and the registry estimates that it will end on April 1st 2011.

Moreover, the auction for the sunrise domain names for which two or more applications were filed also starts today. According to the registry this auction will end within a few days since there are only a couple of names for which several applications were filed.
