750.000 .cz registrations

On Wednesday 19th 2011 the 750.000th .cz domain name was registered (Czech Republic). Obviously the .cz-registry is very pleased about this milestone.

Since the release of the .cz domain beginning 2006 until October 2007, the registry counted approximately 5.000 new registrations per month. In October 2007, the registry switched to a new registration system which made a possible to register a .cz-domain name faster and cheaper. Since October 2007 the number of new registrations per month rose to 10.000. The last 50.000 names were registered between the end of August 2010 until the beginning of January 2011.

‘If we maintain this number of registrations per month, we can celebrate our 1 million domain name registrations at the end of 2012,’ says Ondřej Filip, the enthusiast CEO  of the .cz registry.
