The .sy registry (Syria) has decided to start registering .sy names actively. Up until now, it was possible to register a name under the .sy domain, but those names were parked. This has changed now. If you now register a .sy name, you will be able to use this name actively.
However, owners of a parked .sy name, still need to have some patience. Their names will become active but the registry hasn’t decided yet when this will happen.
There are also several restrictions to register a .sy domain name. Only companies can register a .sy name. The registry also requires an incorporation certificate. Moreover, complicated notarized paperwork is needed.
