Release 3 new extensions: .music, .ing and .meme

In September the 3 following new domain extensions will be released:

.music
.ing
.meme

.MUSIC
The release of .music will happen in 3 phases.
Once your domain name application has been filed the .music registry will establish an identity verification. Your domain name remains under a lock and is unusable until this verification has been completed.

1) Sunrise: September 11th 2023 until November 15th 2023
During this sunrise, anyone who owns a registered trademark, which is registered with the TradeMark ClearingHouse, can register this trademark under one of these extensions.

2) Community phase: October 16th 2023 until March 10th 2024
Only if you have a direct link with the .music community (such as a musician, songwriter, music label, …) you are eligible for a domain name under .music. The registry checks this strictly and will request evidence before your domain name is activated.

3) General availability: April 1st 2024
Only if you have a direct link with the .music community (such as a musician, songwriter, music label, …) you are eligible for a domain name under .music. You can also qualify as an aspiring musician or company that is seen as an established value and wants to build a link to the .music community.

Via bNamed you can already preregister your .music domain name.

.ING AND .MEME
To register a domain name under one of the above extensions, an SSL certificate is necessary, websites only work via https.
Furthermore, there are no additional conditions that you must meet to register a name under one of these extensions.

The release of these extensions will be in 3 phases:

1) Sunrise: September 20th 2023 until October 24th 2023
During this sunrise, anyone who owns a registered trademark, who is registered with the TradeMark ClearingHouse, can register this trademark under one of these extensions.

2) Early Access Period (EAP): November 28th 2023 until December 5th 2023
During this period, anyone who wishes can register a name under one of these extensions, albeit for a higher price. Every day the price will drop slightly.

3) General availability: December 5th 2023
From now on, anyone who wishes can register a name under one of these extensions.

Via bNamed you can already pre-register your name under one of those extensions.
As mentioned above, websites under these extensions only work over https. If you use our web forwarding, you can activate “https” without any problems. If you do your own hosting, you can of course also order one of our SSL certificates.
