Adaptation transfer procedure .be coming soon

After the SIDN (.nl registry) the .be registry, DNS.be, also announced they’ll change their transfer procedure. On June 14th 2011 the new procedure will be launched. Due to this adaptation, the distinction between the transfer and trade procedure will disappear.

If you now initiate a transfer for a .be domain name, DNS.be sends an email to the email address of the owner of the domain name asking him/her to approve the transfer. If you launch a trade (owner change) for a .be domain name, the registry sends an email to both the current and the new owner and they both need to confirm this owner change. The new procedure won’t use those emails anymore. DNS.be will now simply send a code to the owner of the domain name. He/she needs to send this code to the registrar to whom he/she wishes to transfer the domain name or to the new owner of this name.

DNS.be will soon send an email to all .be domain name owners to inform them about this new procedure.
