The registry in Kzazchstan (Kaznic) has introduced a new condition you need to meet if you wish to register a domain name under the .kz extension. Moreover owners of already registered .kz domain names will also need to make sure they comply to this new condition.
Today, on May 17th 2011, the SIDN (.nl registry) has changed the transfer procedure. Transfers for .nl domain names will now happen slightly different than before.
On May 11th, the sunrise for .asia IDN domain names began. IDN means Internationalised Domain Names and means domain names can also contain non Latin characters. Since May 11th, this is also possible for .asia names.
On March 16th the sunrise for 1 and 2 character .uk names ended. On May 23rd the landrush for those names will begin. This landrush will end on June 15th.
The Turkish registry (nic.tr) has announced they want to forbid 138 words regarding domain name registrations. This means a domain name may no longer contain such words. Via this proposal the Turkish registry wants to ban all sexual loaded content via names which are hosted in Turkey. Because of this decision several sites, which domain names contain such words but which haven’t got anything to do with eroticism, will be in trouble.
