2 character and numeric .tel names available soon

Telnic (.tel registry) has announced there will be a landrush for 2 character .tel names (for instance ab.tel) and for .tel names which only contains numbers (for instance 12.tel). However those numeric names can’t contain more than 8 digits. Combinations, so a 2 character .tel name containing 1 letter and 1 number are also possible (for instance a1.tel).

The landrush for those names will start on June 1st and will end on June 14th. During this landrush everyone who wishes to do so can register such a .tel domain name. Applications will be treated on a first come, first served basis. However there are certain names which can’t be registered:

• 1 letter of 1 number .tel names (a.tel through z.tel aren’t possible just like 0.tel through 9.tel)
• 2 letter .tel names which form a country code (be.tel, it.tel, us.tel,… )
• numeric .tel names which contain more than 8 numbers (so phone numbers aren’t possible)
