1 and 2 character domains soon available at .at

The Austrian registry will soon be releasing the domain names, existing from only 1 or 2 characters. This was already possible for many years at .co.at and .or.at, but soon will be available for .at as well!The release of these short names runs in several phases. At first the trademark holders can register their domain between 29 August 2016 and 23 September 2016. Domain names identical to trademarks or to trademarks consisting of 1 or 2 characters combined with a distinctive character will now be able to be registered.

After this period, an online auction will be held for all domains that weren’t registered yet. This auction will start on 7 November.

All the remaining short domain names will be available on 6 December. On this date all other short .at domain names will be made technically available.
