The registry has decided to lift all existing restrictions on a .pro domain name registration effective from November 16th 2015.

Until now, the registry demanded to proof you’re a professional when you wanted to register a .pro domain name. You needed to be licensed by a government certification body, recognized by a governmental body, that required its members to be licensed or admitted to provide services. You also needed to be in good standing and needed to be a person or company that provides professional services.

These regulations will be lifted on 16 November 2015 and make it easier for you to register a .pro domain name.

This will diminish the step to reserve a .pro domain name for starters, so that they will also be able to reflect their professionalism.
