.vlaanderen and .brussels have finally been launched!

There is no doubt that you haven’t heard about the launch of .vlaanderen and .brussels.

You did hear about all those different registration periods. But what are those phases? What do they involve?

There are 5 possibilities to sign up for both .vlaanderen and .brussels.

• The first period, the so-called Sunrise-period, has started on 1 September and will end on 1 October 2014. During this period companies are able to register their domain, but only if they can provide a registered trademark.

• The second period, 2 October until 3 November, is reserved for governmental institutions and companies that have a belgian department.

• During the private indivuals period, following the second period, namely between 13 November and 15 December, everyone can register his own name. This period is available at very attractive prices!

• There is also a Landrush-period, starting 16 December and ending 15 January 2015, during which everyone can request a domain name. However, if there are multiple requests for the same domain, there will be an auction at the end of this period for these names.

• And finally there is the general launch … from 20 January really everyone can apply for the domain he/she has always dreamed off. But … you have to be fast .. First come, first served applies ….
