Taking into account the information made available by ICANN earlier today about how they will mitigate name collisions, we have updated the spreadsheet we make available with new gTLD requests. The new version also clearly shows the “risk level” ICANN assigned to each TLD string. Certainly those with an “uncalculated” risk and a low prioritization number are likely to see their launch delayed.
The spreadsheet now also shows for which string multiple requests are received. For those the earliest sunrise date will also depend on which applicant will actually win the string.
We have chosen not to change the earliest sunrise prediction, but need to mention that these dates turn out to be more unreliable right now because of the news earlier today. Earliest sunrise could however still be Oktober 5’th, even though earliest activation of a domain name under one of the new gTLD’s can happen no sooner than November 11’th.
