During the first 3 years of this year 9.781 new .ie domain names were registered. That&#8217;s a rise of 28% compared to the last quarter of 2008. 80% of those names were registered by sole traders and limited companies. 98% of this growth was generated by resellers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We&#8217;re very pleased with this rise of .ie registrations,&#8217; says David Curtin, CEO of the .ie registry. &#8216;It&#8217;s very motivating to notice that people, despite the economic crisis, still see potential in online activities. We can&#8217;t be anything but glad with those results,&#8217; concludes Curtin.<\/p>\n<p>However there are a few conditions to register an <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.bnamed.net\/en\/extensies\/Ierland\" target=\"_blank\">.ie name<\/a>. <span class=\"nieuws\">The domain name has to partially or completely resemble the official company name or trade mark from the owner of the domain name.
