With the current procedure a .de-name becomes available for registration again immediately after he expired.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->If you forget to renew your .de-name there&#8217;s a risk that someone else already registered your domain name before you&#8217;ve noticed it expired. That&#8217;s why Denic introduces a 30 days grace period.<\/p>\n<p>This means that from December 3rd onwards, the owner of a .de-name will have 30 days to reactivate his expired domain name. So there&#8217;s no longer a risk someone else registers your domain name immediately. However the registry will charge an extra cost for such a reactivation.
