This domain will be used by Google as an URL shortener for YouTube, Google&#8217;s own video service.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Currently Google uses the domain youtu.be as an URL shortner for YouTube but now they became the owner of yt.be, a domain that was already registered since 2003.\u00a0 Those URL shorterners are mainly important for people who visit YouTube via Twitter. Daily 3 million people visit YouTube via tweets and since a tweet may only contain 140 characters those URL-shortners are a nice and almost necessary extra.
