During the months June, July and August DNS Belgium puts one .be, .brussels or .vlaanderen domain name in the picture, the domain name of the week. This domain name is a name which distinguish itself by the use of the .be, .brussels or .vlaanderen extension. This week the domain name of the week is point-virgule.be.‘We looked at several factors to decide which domain name we would crown domain name of the week’. This says Kathleen Buffels, Marketing & Communication Officer at DNS Belgium. ‘We verified whether the website had a clear structure, if the domain name itself was also consistently used in the email addresses and if the website distinguished itself by the use of the .be, .brussels or .vlaanderen extension. This is how we selected point-virgule.be,’ says Buffels.

Also Caroline De Schipper of Point-Virgule explains why they opted for a .be-name: ‘In a market with a lot of international competition, it is important to convey a clear-cut indication of your origin – certainly with a view to a growing export market.’
